At Juice Fiend, I am a huge fan of Omega juicers. Their build quality is second to none and the juice that they make is the best I have tasted. It is their masticating juicers which I like the best. This is because their juicing action, involving crushing and squeezing, for me, makes the best tasting juices. The Omega VRT350HD is my favorite. This is a high end juicer and comes with a price tag to match. That said, it is so quick and easy to use that you can create highly nutritious juices that taste amazing in very little time.
What makes this juicer so special? It’s really the combination of features, which include:
- Vertical Masticating Juicer Technology – The Omega VRT350HD combines the quality of horizontal masticating juicers with greater juicing capacity. This is because of its larger auger and feed chute. For a given period of time, vertical masticating juicers can juice more fruits and vegetables than the older horizontal masticating juicer design.
- Low Speed Juicing – The auger rotates at a slow 80 RPM. The juicing action is one of grinding and crushing. This squeezes out a high juice yield that is highly nutritious and some of the best tasting juice I have ever had. For me, low speed = better taste.
- Top Quality Components – The HD in the model name stands for Heavy Duty. What this means in practice is that the juicing screen and the auger are made of GE Ultem plastic. This is 8* stronger than components in the Omega VRT350 model. I do not recommend the non-HD model.
- 10 Year Manufacturer’s Warranty – This in itself is a mark of quality. If Omega genuinely expected any of the components to be faulty within a 10 year period, I’m sure they would just offer a shorter warranty period. Should any of the parts or motor exhibit a manufacturing defect, it will either be repaired (motor) or replaced (parts).
